Google invites users to join Wave

"Google Wave, which combines e-mail, instant messaging and wiki-style editing will go on public trial today."

This new web communication tool encompasses a variety of aspects a user would use several websites or programs for everyday.

If you have to e-mail a friend, co-worker, or boss or maybe all three you can simply create a 'wave' with them involved and your 'e-mail' in lack of better words is shared by all three. No 'cc' or 'bcc' but rather a platform where you all three can see what the other says and respond immediately or if need be a longer period of time.

Not just as simple as email but photo sharing, bulletin board mach-ups, and many other uses are capable with Google wave. Whether you prefer to bulletin board (such as myself) or Instant Messages, as others do the 'wave' can handle both. What's really interesting is that you can also see real time typing from the other user. So as they answer you back in your 'IM' or bulletin post you see what they are writing, how bad they type, etc... lol

One big set back is for IE users. This platform uses HTML 5 and again with the horrors of IE it cant keep up. So instead if your an IE user be sure to add the 'frame' provided upon download (which is basically Google Chrome) so you can experience all the great features. ( I suggest downloading Firefox, Flock, Chrome, etc... -_-)

One more great feature I know of and kinda like is the fact that you can edit anyone's message on a wave. As I understand it you cannot delete or change what they have but only add to it? Nonetheless, the original poster will still have an opportunity to undo the edit and return to the original post. Also, as a fellow person in the wave you can pick out specific parts of the conversation and reply to that instead of quoting and such. <-- Very kool! ...

If you wish to join Wave now you must do so in a hurry ( I've already sent a request but I dunno if I made it!) because they have only released a limited amount of openeings to the public:

"
It will be open to 100,000 invitees from 1600BST, each of whom can nominate five further people to "join the Wave". "

If you would like to learn more about Google Wave go to: http://wave.google.com and if you would like to share you opinion about the product with others intrigued but it's new existence please feel free to comment here or join the 2 Cell community at http://forum.2-cell.net .

Thanks!
