Google invites users to join Wave

"Google Wave, which combines e-mail, instant messaging and wiki-style editing will go on public trial today."

This new web communication tool encompasses a variety of aspects a user would use several websites or programs for everyday.

If you have to e-mail a friend, co-worker, or boss or maybe all three you can simply create a 'wave' with them involved and your 'e-mail' in lack of better words is shared by all three. No 'cc' or 'bcc' but rather a platform where you all three can see what the other says and respond immediately or if need be a longer period of time.

Not just as simple as email but photo sharing, bulletin board mach-ups, and many other uses are capable with Google wave. Whether you prefer to bulletin board (such as myself) or Instant Messages, as others do the 'wave' can handle both. What's really interesting is that you can also see real time typing from the other user. So as they answer you back in your 'IM' or bulletin post you see what they are writing, how bad they type, etc... lol

One big set back is for IE users. This platform uses HTML 5 and again with the horrors of IE it cant keep up. So instead if your an IE user be sure to add the 'frame' provided upon download (which is basically Google Chrome) so you can experience all the great features. ( I suggest downloading Firefox, Flock, Chrome, etc... -_-)

One more great feature I know of and kinda like is the fact that you can edit anyone's message on a wave. As I understand it you cannot delete or change what they have but only add to it? Nonetheless, the original poster will still have an opportunity to undo the edit and return to the original post. Also, as a fellow person in the wave you can pick out specific parts of the conversation and reply to that instead of quoting and such. <-- Very kool! ...

If you wish to join Wave now you must do so in a hurry ( I've already sent a request but I dunno if I made it!) because they have only released a limited amount of openeings to the public:

"
It will be open to 100,000 invitees from 1600BST, each of whom can nominate five further people to "join the Wave". "

If you would like to learn more about Google Wave go to: http://wave.google.com and if you would like to share you opinion about the product with others intrigued but it's new existence please feel free to comment here or join the 2 Cell community at http://forum.2-cell.net .

Thanks!

Veoh - Free Videos/Clips and TV Online

Veoh Networks was founded in late 2004 by Dmitry Shapiro. Their vision is to: "To make Veoh the most valuable video experience on the Internet."

The site allows users to watch videos, clips, music, and tvs shows online. They also allow users to upload their own videos provided they abide by Veoh's terms. One neat feature is the ability to subscribe to someone else's group or channel so that if you think this user is uploading supurb content you can follow that user's content and look forward to seeing their next great media.

Veoh has compiled for main services for its users and has begun perfecting every detail to the best of their abilities one by one.

Below is a list and a short description about each service information provided from the Veoh website.

  • Veoh.com: Popular video portal, where you can access tens of millions of videos from major content publishers like CBS, ABC, WB, MTV Networks, ESPN, Sony/BMG and Lions Gate, other video sites like YouTube and Hulu, as well as thousands of independent filmmakers and content producers. It's all on Veoh.com.
  • Veoh Video Compass™: Browser add-on that instantly generates relevant online video recommendations as you visit some of the most popular sites on the web. These video recommendations - which are tailored based on the viewing behavior of millions of online video users - make it easy for you to find videos you may have forgotten about, watch things you didn't know existed, or uncover something new.
  • Veoh for iPhone: Veoh is also available on the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Simply navigate to Veoh.com and we'll automatically route you to our iPhone/iPod Touch web application. In a matter of seconds, you get access to our most popular hosted videos whenever you're on the go.
  • Veoh Web Player: Lightweight, downloadable application that allows you to watch full-length videos directly in your browser, download videos from Veoh and other popular video sites for offline viewing, and organize your videos in a library to watch later.

I see veoh all over the net as a source a premiere video services. Many websites use their services to improve their own sites and services. Even if having to download their Web Player to watch full length videos at times it is totally worth it.

I have had great experiences with veoh and I will continue to do so. I hope that you will decide to check them out and share my views about the services of Veoh.
